Dong Ha decides to jump in when he sees Ji Yeon being ridiculed. He doesn’t quite understand why he has to do this. He seems to get in trouble every time he sees Ji Yeon.
Ji Yeon is surprised by the kiss. Who is this dude? It’s been six years since her last kiss and something feels off (You need to get used to it again 😀). One thing is sure: She doesn’t hate it. After the kiss, Dong Ha hugs her. Soo Chul is looking in disbelief (Take this!). Team Leader Byun and his accomplices are also speechless. The only person who looks happy is Yong Shik.
Ji Yeon and Dong Ha receive the prize, which is a bottle of wine and head out. Before leaving, Ji Yeon makes sure to humiliate Soo Chul.
Ji Yeon: “Have you seen steamed spinach for 30 minutes? That is exactly you. Moldy bread? That’s you too.”
Ji Yeon drops all pretense when they are outside the bar. Did Dong Ha helped her by charity? Was this “lip service”? She knows he enjoyed it. Dong Ha bursts out in laughter. Does her reaction mean that she enjoyed it? Dong Ha tries to explain to her that Soo Chul was hired by people that wanted to humiliate her. Ji Yeon is surprised (Damn she’s being slow…), but later concludes that they are not colleagues but instead rivals.
Soo Chul is asked to return the money, which he refuses to do. He did everything Team Leader Byun and company asked him to do. Team Leader Byun points out that he failed since he was the one humiliated. Yong Shik puts 2 and 2 together. How could the three trick Ji Yeon?!
Dong Ha encourages Ji Yeon to think about her behavior. She must have hurt her co-workers to the point that they ganged up on her. Ji Yeon is furious.
Ji Yeon: “Why are you blaming the victim?! Society is messed up! Why aren’t you asking the others to reflect on their behaviors?”
Ji Yeon explains that there was once a woman who was abandoned on the day before her wedding. The man just disappeared, but still the woman waited. Is there an explanation for that too? Dong Ha is sure that there is a reason behind. Ji Yeon yells that she should love to know the reason.
Dong Ha doesn’t know the explanation, but he knows why the others ganged up on her. They don’t like her (Duhhhhh). He couldn’t stand to see a group attacking a single person, and Ji Yeon probably doesn’t have anyone to comfort her. Ji Yeon is offended. Dong Ha offers to drink with her since he is sure that she doesn’t have anyone. Ji Yeon shows her phone. She has 1000 contacts. Dong Ha gives her 10 minutes to call a friend.
Ji Yeon has a hard time contacting a single person. When her mother calls her, she pretends like it’s a friend. Her mother thinks she is on drugs. Why is she acting that way? Her mother insists on coming (We all know Ji Yeon doesn’t want to spend time with her mother…). Conclusion: The friend *cough cough mother* isn’t coming.
Ji Yeon then drags Dong Ha to another place. There is someone she knows who is close by. They stop in a small restaurant. Ji Yeon’s friend Baek Na Rae, who is the owner, is excited to see her. The friend’s husband Min Goo is not so delighted. Ji Yeon keeps looking down on her friend and the restaurant.
Ji Yeon: “You deceived me and eloped with this man to live in such a situation?”
Na Rae: “I didn’t deceive you. I didn’t want to upset you…”
Dong Ha discreetly asks Ji Yeon if this is truly her friend. Na Rae proceeds to introduce herself as the only friend Ji Yeon has left (So embarrassing…).
Ji Yeon and Dong Ha are treated to a meal by Na Rae and Min Goo. Ji Yeon keeps looking down on the couple and talking smack every time they say something. Min Goo only made it because he met the right woman. From pojangmacha owner to restaurant/bar owner (Our main girl is really salty -__-). Dong Ha is quite uncomfortable, but Min Goo confirms. He met the right woman; Na Rae is his muse. Ji Yeon is even more annoyed by the couple being lovey dovey.
Na Rae is able to diffuse the tense atmosphere by telling high school memories. Ji Yeon relaxes and everyone has a good laugh.
Dong Ha is confronted by Soo Chul when he gets back. Was Dong Ha with that woman [Ji Yeon] the all time? How could Dong Ha betray him?! Dong Ha explains that Soo Chul created this mess himself.
Dong Ha is giving water to a dead plant. He has a flashback. He remembers his ex-girlfriend telling him that he should have taken good care of the plant but now it’s dead. Dong Ha tells her that he spends so much time at the library that’s why. This plant seems dead. Should they just give up on that one? She says no. If he diligently takes care of the plant, it will bloom again. End of the flashback. Dong Ha took care of it diligently why is it still not back to life (I feel like this is him also asking why the girl is not back in his life?)?
Ji Yeon goes to bed thinking that another year passed.
Yong Shik welcomes Ji Yeon the next day at work. He explains that he has nothing to do with the incident. Yong Shik also wants to know who is the mysterious guy who kissed her. Ji Yeon scolds him; she never talks about personal matters. Yong Shik smiles and follows her in the office. He starts talking about the Kim Jeong Do article, but Ji Yeon has something else on her mind.
Ji Yeon confronts Team Leader Byun plus two. The group pretends to be busy with work. That doesn’t stop Ji Yeon. It’s been 13 hours since the incident, why haven’t they apologized yet? Before the 24 hours grace period is over they better apologize… (Oh snap O_O).
Kim Jeong Do meets with his mistress. Apparently, Ji Yeon is her university hoobae, but she has nothing to do with the information coming out. Jeong Do gives her money to leave the country (Please don’t take it!). Jeong Do comes out on TV claiming his innocence. He also wants to take legal actions against Trouble Maker.
Ji Yeon tries to meet with Soo Jeong sunbae – Jeong Do’s mistress – but in vain.
Team Leader Byun plus two are trying to get a refund from Soo Chul. The latter begs Dong Ha to talk to Ji Yeon since the two are probably close now. Dong Ha refuses; he doesn’t want to get involved.
Ji Yeon’s mother shows up at her office. The co-workers eavesdrop on their conversation. She insists on Ji Yeon meeting with the shaman. Ji Yeon gives in…
Dong Ha has a repair job at the shaman’s place. When he shows up, the shaman turns totally creepy. She gets really touchy with Dong Ha and keeps hugging his legs while he is fixing the electricity problem. He is still taking a look at the fuse box when Ji Yeon and her mother walk in for a consultation. Ji Yeon is forced to leave her phone in a box at the entrance. Dong Ha hides and starts listening.
Ji Yeon and the shaman can’t stand each other. The shaman takes every chance she can to verbally and physically attack Ji Yeon. Ji Yeon’s mother has to beg the shaman to not throw them out; she pulls the cancer card. How can Ji Yeon not listen to her mother’s wishes? Someone who has cancer never knows when he or she will die. Ji Yeon knows that her mother isn’t suffering of cancer anymore, but still gives in.
The shaman hits Ji Yeon to prevent bad luck to keep coming in. When the shaman’s phone rings (She’s always complaining about phones ringing, but I guess hers is an exception -___-), Ji Yeon’s mother has to keep beating her. Dong Ha peaks at them from time to time while finishing his work.
Ji Yeon’s mother keeps blaming it all on the runaway groom. Ji Yeon waited in vain on her wedding day for him to show up.
Dong Ha understands that the woman who was abandoned by her groom is no other than Ji Yeon herself.
After the beating, Ji Yeon and her mother leave, but not without grabbing an animal amulet. Ji Yeon just grabs whichever. It turns out to be a horse. When the shaman walks back in, she wonders why Ji Yeon would increase her bad luck by taking a blue horse amulet. No luck this year again…
Dong Ha gets ready to leave since his work is done. He grabs his phone, or more like Ji Yeon’s phone. Both left their phones at the entrance and since they both have the same it got mixed up.
The situation at Trouble Maker is hectic. Everyone wants to know what’s going. Did Trouble Maker publish an article without any proof? Are they lying about Kim Jeong Do? Team Leader Byun is furious: This mess is The Witch’s fault.
Dong Ha only realizes that he has Ji Yeon’s phone when he receives a phone call from Yong Shik. Na Rae also tries to get in touch with Ji Yeon to discuss the Kim Jeong Do’s situation.
Ji Yeon stops at a pharmacy to get something for her back before heading to a pojangmacha. She is drunk when she receives a call from Dong Ha. She remembers him as the tall guy from yesterday. How did he get her number? Dong Ha doesn’t want to get into details. Ji Yeon hangs up before he finds out where to meet her.
Dong Ha receives a call from Traitor. He immediately thinks that it’s the run away groom. He asks the caller not to hang up and to listen carefully.
Dong Ha: ” I am sure you called after carefully thinking about it. Please listen to me. I don’t have any kind of relationship with Ji Yeon. I am not her boyfriend, lover, or hoobae. It just turns out that I have her phone. You didn’t show up at the wedding so Ji Yeon is having a hard time right now.”
Caller: “Are you the person that came with Ji Yeon the other day?”
It turns out that “Traitor” is Na Rae. She wonders how Dong Ha knows about Shi Hoon sunbae (HAAAAA that’s the dude’s name). She is the only one that knows about it. Dong Ha explains that he heard it at the fortune teller’s.
Na Rae: ” You both went to see if you were well matched?!”
No No No! Ji Yeon went with her mother. Na Rae explains that Ji Yeon is probably drinking. Yesterday was a special day and not in a good way. Dong Ha finds out where Ji Yeon might be and heads there.
Dong Ha exchanges their phones. He also explains that the phones got mixed up at the fortune teller’s. Ji Yeon is shocked to find out that he was there too. He lies that he didn’t see anything (He is so sweet). Dong Ha is about to leave when he realizes that Ji Yeon is way too drunk to be left alone. Ji Yeon orders more alcohol, but Dong Ha drinks it to prevent her from drinking.
Na Rae is unable to sleep. Her husband wonders why she is worried about Ji Yeon. Apparently Ji Yeon has a bad habit when she is drunk… (What is the habit?! Can’t wait to find out). Na Rae explains that all of Ji Yeon’s relationships started when she was drunk.
Dong Ha takes Ji Yeon back – not an easy task. Na Rae gives a break down of Ji Yeon’s habits when she is drunk:
– Liberation: Ji Yeon sets her mind and body free.
– Drunken Kiss: Ji Yeon drags Dong Ha inside her apartment. They drink off the same can of beer and start kissing.
Things get heated, clothes are taken off, but Ji Yeon is taken aback when she sees Dong Ha’s ID.
There is 14 years between them… Dong Ha was born when she was 15. When Ji Yeon was in high school, Dong Ha was still crawling. When she landed her first job, he was ten years old. The worst: When she was 30, he was 16. Ji Yeon sees herself in court. The judge is her current boss. She is accused of taking advantage of a minor and sentenced to two years and six months in jail.
The age difference is too much for Ji Yeon to handle and she kicks Dong Ha, which results in him landing on the floor…
Ji Yeon realizing the age difference between Dong Ha and her is hilarious. There is legally nothing that keeps them from having a relationship, but she obviously fears people’s reactions. It’s funny how Ji Yeon is older, but seems more immature than Dong Ha. So far, he has been the bigger person. Taking care of her when needed despite her being obnoxious. He even is thoughtful enough to lie to her about the fortune teller’s incident.
The fortune teller’s incident shows how painful it is for Ji Yeon’s mother to see her daughter suffering. Ji Yeon doesn’t show that she is in pain, but her mother seems to know her enough to figure it out. I am glad that Dong Ha got to hear the story without Ji Yeon having to explain it. It is embarrassing enough and it saves her the pain.
Narsha does a good job at playing the shaman. She is so creepy and annoying. I wonder if her power are real though. She seems to know about people hating Ji Yeon… Although she could have guessed that :-D. Also I am still trying to figure out why the shaman was acting all touchy with Dong Ha. Is this going to be a one way love story? Shaman vs. Ji Yeon for Dong Ha’s heart!?
Dong Ha seems to have deep scars and a troubled past – something I never saw coming. Who is this girl who gave him the plant? Where is she now? Anyhow it seems that he is ready to forget that girl. The heated kisses with Ji Yeon are sufficient proofs ;-P.
