Full House (วุ่นนัก รักเต็มบ้าน) Episode 8

So many cute scenes!

Aom meets with Mike’s mother and we get to know more about Mike’s family. At first, Mike’s mother didn’t know that Mike’s father was from a noble family. It’s only when she met Mike’s grandmother that she figured it out. It wasn’t easy at first to get adjusted and won Mike’s grandmother’s respect and affection. She almost gave up several times but Mike’s father was always besides her – suggesting that Aom shouldn’t give up too even if it gets hard.

Also the men in that family are proud and often hide their true feelings, which in part explains why the relationship between Mike and his father isn’t so good. It all started when Mind, Mike’s younger sister, passed away. Mike still blames his father for her death.. Mike’s father even decided not to attend the wedding; he doesn’t want to make Mike uncomfortable. Aom disagrees; she doesn’t think it would make Mike uncomfortable. Aom even agrees to personally invite her future father in law.

Aom isn’t sure how to proceed and if she should even get involved (You know you want to deep down) but she finally summons her courage and go see her father in law at work. Aom is smart about it and begs him to be the elder on her side since she doesn’t have any relatives. He happily agrees but is a little worried about Mike’s reaction. Aom reassures him; she will take care of it herself.

Aom comes back home and warns Mike that if he ever kicks her out of his car again she will leave his life for good. Mike replies that he was worried about her especially since it was getting dark and apologizes (He’s getting less and less arrogant. I guess it’s the Aom effect). Aom is touched but having the upper hand she uses it to convince him to have the wedding at his house.

Guy and Min are both dwelling on their feelings. Meanwhile  Aom and Mike are getting more and more nervous as the big day gets closer – unable to sleep, lost in their thoughts, etc.

The big day is finally there! The wedding is private and held at Mike’s family house. Everyone is there: Mike’s family, Guy, Min, and even Pao and Oom.

Min goes to see Mike while he is getting dressed up (He looks handsome but you can tell that his face is caked with makeup. A huge NO NO). Their conversation is really cold and both of them, especially Min, feel uncomfortable. Min tries to apologize and wonders if Mike deciding to suddenly get married  has something to do with her actions. Mike asks Min how was she so sure that he would always be there for her/always follow her? Min is unable to answer and Mike adds “I think  you now have the answer” and turns his back on her. Pain is written on both of their faces. She still finds the courage to wish him the best of happiness.

The wedding takes place without any inconvenience and damn they make a cute couple! It is hard to tell that they are a fake couple because they look so legitimate in their bickering and smiles. They receive blessings from everyone including Guy and Min. Guy makes his blessings very friendly and sincere (I felt like he was also flirting with Aom, or am I reading too much into every little thing he does??!!); Min makes her blessings short and awkward.

Right after the wedding, our newly wed couple heads back to where it all started: KOREA! Reporters escort them to the airport and keep asking way too many questions (As usual…); they even wonder if the couple will be conceiving a Mike Jr. while in Korea (LOL).

Screen Shot 2014-02-05 at 5.10.35 PM

The stewardess welcomes them aboard and serve them wine (Oh nooooooo). Mike warns Aom: if she vomits again, he will throw her out of the window. Her answer: pretending to vomit again…

This time the couple stay in this traditional Korean house (Hanok) and the first night Mike acts like a princess. Having Aom put the suitcase away and being a party pooper.

Back in Thailand, Min makes unsuccessful attempts to contact Mike to show him new clothes (What a lame excuse!). She calls Benz, Mike’s assistant, and finds out that he is on his honeymoon. Benz delibaretely teases Min explaining that he just got married (As if she didn’t already know that… Duh she was there lol. Poor Min.) and that’s why he is on his honeymoon. He will not be back until a few days.

In Korea, our couple finally starts enjoying their trip except when Aom runs into Mike naked. Oooopsies he seems like someone forgot to close the bathroom door. Mike ends up finding it funny and tells Aom that if she doesn’t stop complaining he will stay naked all day (She would inevitably have to see his mammoth as he calls it O_O).

Surprisingly Mike proposes that they take a walk in the city! He wants to find something good to eat (I can already smell some mouth watering street food). If she wants to go she has to show him a smile first (Mike why do you care whether or not she smiles if you don’t like her? Or maybe you do…??? Mouhahaha)

On their way, Aom sees a father riding a bike with his daughter sitting on the back. It reminds her of her own dad – sad. Mike sees that she is lost in her thoughts and tries to make her forget about it.

Fun…

… and more fun!

At some point they split; they agree to meet back at Namdaemun. He teaches her a few Korean word: Jaegun Babo (Small fool) and translates it as “You’re as beautiful as an angel”. Later, Aom tries to use Jaegun Babo when bargaining and quickly figures out that it’s not as positive as Mike made it sound. When they later meet, Mike founds out that she used it and starts making fun of her. Oh but wait, Aom learned something of her own: meong cheong ee (Idiot)!

Dinner time! Aom tries to have more street food, but Princess Mike’s stomach is too sensitive for that and he refuses to try anything. Aom forces Mike to try some and of course he enjoys it!

While there, they meet Aom’s old friends – the two dude with who she had a little too much soju during her last trip. As we all know, the language barrier is not a big deal for Aom and she makes the best of their meeting. She invites them to sit, eat, and drink.

They are joined by another group who also met Aom during her last trip (Girl is way too popular). By the end of the night, Mike and Aom are both drunk, have danced like no other, and all their friends believe (At just title) that they are together.

When they get back, the struggle begins for the BED. The first night Mike fell asleep on the floor, but this time he refuses to let her sleep in the bed. They start fighting…

Both are so exhausted that they give up and end up falling asleep facing each other in a tight blanket…

The wedding scenes perfectly illustrates  what Aom can bring to Mike’s family. She is able to bring all of them together to celebrate and although Mike stays cold with his father this is still a big step. It gives hope that things can get better. Also since Mike’s parents have lost a daughter, they can find comfort in having a cheerful and genuinely nice daughter in law. Aom will never be able to truly replace Mind but she can still fill some of that void.

The first trip in Korea didn’t show a lot of interaction between Aom and Mike, but it’s totally different for the second trip. They spend quality time together –  far away from Min and Guy – and that  gives them the chance to get to know each other more. Their bickering is an indication of them getting close to each other. Mike feels comfortable with Aom and is free to be himself – from the sexual jokes about his mammoth to him dancing and drinking with her. Seeing Mike acting all comfy with Aom reminds me of what Guy told Min: love is about comfort. I have never seen Mike smile and laugh so much with Min (And no one else for that matter).Plus Mike needs to reevaluates his feelings for Min. When he is with Aom even if he thinks about Min, it is always short lived. He never dwells on it for too long.

Going back to Guy: I feel like he is uncertain. He feels that something is off but he is unable to figure out what exactly. Throughout the wedding ceremony, he keeps glancing at the newly wed couple and I could almost see question marks in his eyes. Like I said before, maybe I am reading too much into it.

When it comes to Min, I think she surely and finally realizes that she lost something: never take anything for granted! First dagger in her heart was when Mike kissed Aom and announced their wedding. Second, when Mike turns his back on her when she comes to see him while he is getting dressed up. I thought that scene was sooooo powerful.

Screen Shot 2014-02-05 at 5.05.32 PM

Mike was always there for Min; no matter what she did and to see him changing is a big shock for her. Even if Mike himself hasn’t realized it yet, it might be because he is fed up of running after Min, but also because there is someone new (And maybe more important) in his life. Third, when Min hears about the honeymoon it makes her realize that Mike is figuratively and temporarily out of reach. For the first time, she is the one running after him and being ignored. I wonder how that feels 😀

The preview for episode 9 was hilarious, especially the bicycle scene! Feel free to comment and share your impressions!

  1. TGIF! Well it’s Saturday 12am in Bangkok right now, so Full House ep 9 will air in what, a couple of hours? 10? either way i can’t wait. this full house version is coming along as the best one yet and i already love how the love story between om-am and mike is unfolding. she’s already giving him comfort, their bickering is so cute, he loves teasing her, they had moments of attractions for each other and then add on top of that the bet of whoever loves first loses? this version has all the makings of a good rom-com, so hopefully the story won’t get dragged too much, considering both leads are stubborn people who is not going to admit to liking such a shorty or an abnormal man. but one thing i definitely don’t want to see, is mike standing up om-am all the time like Bi did in the korean version.
