The Greatest Marriage: Going Nuts

If someone knows where this show is heading I would love to be enlightened. I am so mad right now.

This show started off great – like so many dramas. Now, all the characters are acting out. I am infuriated by how the Park family and Myung Hi are acting toward Cha Ki Young and Dan. What I saw in this show was the story of two women that both aimed for happiness.  Myung Hi choose to tie herself to a man and gain status. She dropped her career plans and started a life of servitude. Mistreated at the beginning, she is still mistreated by in her in-laws. Myung Hi’s only hope was the child she was carrying, but her miscarriage put an end to her dreams. Myung Hi didn’t have an heir for the Park family so I guess that’s when she thought that accepting Dan as her son could save her. I never liked Myung Hi’s character. I have yet to find something positive about her.

Cha Ki Young choose to have her child despite the odds. She knew that it would mean the end of her career and a series of hardships. I love her character because it defies traditional gender roles. As a woman, she chooses what she thinks is best. She ignores what society dictates unlike Myung Hi – getting married, abandoning your career, giving your all to your husband and his family.

The Greatest Marriage

2014-10-08 20.05.18 I am enjoying this drama and all its quirky characters! Plot Cha Ki Young, a successful anchorwoman, is enjoying a peaceful life until she starts a relationship with culinary reporter Park Tae Yeon. Screen Shot 2014-10-08 at 8.02.48 PM Ki Young had everything going for her – career, looks, and money. The only thing she missed was the warmth of a man. From the beginning, it’s clear that Tae Yeon is just there to fill a void: Ki Young has no intention to have a husband. Things get more complicated when Tae Yeon gets attached and fails to give room to Ki Young. Plus, let’s add that that her female lead gets pregnant. Surprise, surprise! Not really actually… Ki Young and Tae Yeon had (unprotected) sex so often that it was only a matter of time. Screen Shot 2014-10-08 at 8.13.26 PM Continue reading

Secret_Love-p

Original Title: 비밀

Secret is the story of Kang Yoo Jung , a woman who goes to jail for a crime she didn’t commit. The night her long time boyfriend, Ahn Do Hoon, proposes to her, is also the night they get into a car accident and kill Jo Min Hyuk’s girlfriend, Seo Ji Hee. Do Hoon decides to hide the fact that they hit someone  and leaves Ji Hee dying on the side of the road. When the case is reported to the police, Yoo Jeong decides to take the blame. Do Hoon was on the track to fulfill his dream of becoming a prosecutor and she didn’t want him to lose everything he had worked for. She will spend four years in jail, where she will give birth to a baby boy. While in jail, she will suffer all kind of abuses from other inmates and will even have her baby taken away from her. Some of the difficulties encountered are by no means by the will of God or luck, but rather deliberately provoked by Min Hyuk, who is seeking revenge for the dead Ji Hee. When she gets out of jail, Min Hyuk keeps making her life impossible  – neglecting his fiancee Shin Se Yeon.In the meanwhile, Do Hoon, who is now a prosecutor is not the same as four years ago. Blinded by greed, he will do anything to get richer and  recognized even if it means throwing the woman –  who saved his life – under a bus.
